ABOUT COBRA PERFORMING ARTS

Building Confident Performers, Strong Leaders, and Future College Students.

About us:

Cobra Performing Arts is a community-centered youth development organization dedicated to empowering young people through performing arts, leadership development, academic encouragement, and college exposure.

For approximately 20 years, our organization has provided opportunities for students to discover their abilities, build meaningful relationships, perform for diverse audiences, and pursue ambitious goals.

Through our expanded HBCU-inspired model, Cobra introduces young people to the spirit and traditions associated with Historically Black Colleges and Universities before they enter college.

Our programs are designed to help students see themselves as artists, scholars, leaders, entrepreneurs, and future professionals.

Our mission:

To empower young people through high-quality performing arts education, mentorship, leadership development, academic support, and exposure to college and career opportunities.

Our vision:

To create a comprehensive HBCU-inspired youth development experience that prepares students to succeed in school, contribute to their communities, pursue higher education, and build meaningful careers.

Our core values:

C.O.B.R.A.S. stands for:

  • C — Commitment.
  • O — Obedience.
  • B — Believe.
  • R — Respect.
  • A — Achievement.
  • S — Service.

These values guide our rehearsals, performances, relationships, community service, and expectations for every participant.

What makes Cobra different:

Cobra is more than a performing arts program. We combine artistic development with mentorship, discipline, cultural identity, leadership, academic accountability, and future planning.

Our students participate in experiences designed to connect what they learn today with the opportunities they can pursue tomorrow.

Who we serve:

Students in grades 1–12, young adults, emerging performers, families, schools, community organizations, and participants who benefit from inclusive or specialized programming.

Specific programs may have different age requirements.
